Urban Anthropology and partners offer the following programs, services, and activities in Lincoln Village/Baran Park (the Park Neighborhoods).
Family Tree Program
UrbAn received a grant from the Southeast Wisconsin Watershed Trust, Inc. (Sweetwater) for our “Family Tree” program. The goal of the Sweetwater grant is to support local green infrastructure and conservation activities and improve water quality of Milwaukee rivers.
Our grant is a way of educating the public by linking ancestry to the environment. Trees donated by Lincoln Village residents carry a small medallion dedicated to the favorite ancestor of the donor. Matching funds will be used to replace trees that have been lost to Kosciuszko Park and along the Kinnickinnic River. Residents of the Park Neighborhoods or former neighborhood residents can purchase a tree and have it dedicated to an ancestor with the name on a small medallion. For more information about the program call Rick at: (414) 335-3729.
