Healthy Neighborhoods Initiative:
Urban Anthropology Inc. is a Healthy Neighborhoods organization through support from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation and the City of Milwaukee.
There are currently nine Milwaukee and one Waukesha healthy neighborhoods: The Park Neighborhoods (Lincoln Village, Baran Park, Forest Home Hills and parts of Bay View), Thurston Woods, Sherman Park, Martin Drive, Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, Johnson’s Park, Havenwoods, Enderis Park,Tower Hill Waukesha and Capital Heights. Organizations in each of these mid-market Milwaukee neighborhoods work to stabilize local real estate, encourage investment, connect neighbors to resources and to one another, and improve the overall image of their areas.
The Park Neighborhoods programming includes reaching out to homebuyers and renters and offering real estate tours, highlighting the history and culture of the neighborhoods through tours and youth activities, and offering matching grants for residents improving their properties. You can find more information about UrbAn’s Healthy Neighborhoods programming under the "Park Neighborhoods" tab.
